A familiar face is returning to the Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center (MAMC). Tyler Brandstetter of Huntington will assume the role of Makerspace/STEAM Outreach Coordinator on Feb. 3.
He served as MAMC’s Entrepreneur Services Coordinator and later EDA University Center Manager & Executive Coach for Entrepreneurship Development from 2019 to 2021.
Brandstetter said he will work to expand the offerings of MAMC’s community makerspace, the MakerVault, and make it more accessible to individuals and groups of all types, from K-12 schools and community organizations to university students, faculty and staff.
“As a Marshall University alumnus, I’m deeply committed to connecting the MU community to the resources and technology we offer,” he said. “Science, technology, engineering, art and math touch every aspect of life, and MAMC’s MakerVault can serve as a catalyst for innovation and discovery for every collegiate discipline.”
The Fayette County native has extensive experience in economic development and entrepreneurial support. Most recently, Brandstetter served as Operations Manager/Economic Development Specialist for the West Virginia Military Authority. He also has worked as FASTER WV Business Launch Specialist for Advantage Valley and the West Virginia Economic Development Authority.
Brandstetter has served as a mentor, coach and presenter for the Governor’s School of Entrepreneurship since 2020. The Marshall University graduate achieved dual degrees from the Lewis College of Business in marketing and entrepreneurship. He is a lifelong West Virginia resident and a graduate of Meadow Bridge High School.
