Steven Stacy of Lavalette has joined the Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI) as workforce recruiter. His addition to the RCBI team continues the expansion of it nationally recognized Machinist Technology/CNC and Welding Technology programs offered in partnership with Mountwest Community and Technical College.
Stacy is responsible for student recruitment across southern and central West Virginia, southeastern Ohio and eastern Kentucky as well as assisting with class scheduling, financial aid and retention efforts.
The 2019 Mountwest graduate previously served as a college ambassador at his alma mater through the AmeriCorps program, assisting with recruitment efforts across the region. While a student, he worked as a peer coach, conducting college tours, helping attract and retain students, and assisting prospective students with applying for financial aid.
“Steven’s enthusiasm, experience in student recruitment and familiarity with our partner Mountwest make him a great addition to our growing workforce team,” said Charlotte Weber, RCBI director & CEO. “He will play a pivotal role as we continue expanding our machinist and welding programs to meet the workforce needs of area manufacturers.”
Originally from Fort Gay, Stacy is a 2017 graduate of Tolsia High School. The oldest of seven children, he has six younger sisters. Stacy describes himself as a big sports fan, particularly when it comes to Marshall University, West Virginia University and his beloved Dallas Cowboys!
